What often matters most is not its location on the map, but how long it actually takes to get to work, school or other important places. With our commute time search, you can specifically search for apartments that allow you to reach your chosen destination within a certain travel time.
When looking for an apartment, size, number of rooms and rent are usually the main priorities. But after moving in, another factor often proves just as important: the journey to work, school, daycare or other places you need to travel to regularly.
Spending an hour stuck in traffic every morning or having to change several times on public transport can significantly affect your quality of life. At the same time, an apartment that initially appears further away on the map may actually be much more convenient thanks to a good train connection or a direct cycling route.
Distance alone therefore often says very little about whether an apartment truly fits your everyday life.
Search by minutes, not kilometres
This is exactly where our commute time search comes in. Instead of searching exclusively by location or region, you can now define your desired travel time to any destination.
First, select the place you need to reach regularly – for example, your workplace or school. Then choose how you want to get there and the maximum amount of time you are willing to spend on the journey.
Only suitable apartments are shown
The map view will now only show apartments that can be reached within your selected commute time. Only listings with a sufficiently precise location are included. This helps ensure reliable travel times and realistic search results.
This opens up new possibilities, particularly in cities and surrounding urban areas. For example, an apartment outside the city centre may be quicker to reach thanks to a direct public transport connection than a closer apartment with less convenient connections.
Spend less time searching and decide faster
The new search feature helps you take your daily routine into account from the very start of your apartment search. Instead of trying out different locations individually or comparing travel times afterwards, your preferred commute time is built directly into the search.
This saves time, broadens your view of suitable places to live and makes it easier to choose a home that works not only on paper, but also in everyday life.
Search alerts with travel time
You can also save searches that use the travel-time filter as a personal search alert. This way, you’ll be notified immediately when a new listing is published that matches your selected travel-time criteria.
