In the municipality of Lauerz, there are two islands in Lake Lauerz, Schwanau and Roggenburg. The latter was never inhabited. Schwanau Island is 200 meters long and up to 55 meters wide. It has an area of 5728 m² and is about 125 meters away from the southern shore of the lake. It can be reached by ferry. On the island, you can visit the castle ruins and enjoy a fine meal in the restaurant.
The region offers a variety of leisure activities for everyone; Goldau Nature and Animal Park, theater, cinema, mini golf, Zugersee ship transport, summer and winter tourism in the Rigi area, Vita Parcours, forest educational trail, nature reserves Schutt and Sägel with extensive hiking trails in the Rigi and Rossberg area.
