Description
If you love spacious, open living, plenty of light, and exceptional architecture, you'll find a home here that's hard to come by: We're looking for a subtenant for our loft apartment in the former Hug shoe factory in Dulliken, starting November 1st, 2026.
The listed shoe factory was carefully converted into unique living lofts by Adrian Streich Architekten, preserving its original industrial character: Approximately 4-meter-high rooms, visible concrete structures, floor-to-ceiling windows, and the distinctive, wood-clad living furniture give the apartment its unmistakable atmosphere.
The apartment is located on the ground floor and offers approximately 142 m² of living space. In addition to the impressively spacious living hall, it features a separate bedroom, a spacious bathroom, a separate guest toilet, and plenty of integrated storage space.
The heart of the apartment is the open, integrated kitchen, which features a new refrigerator-freezer combination and a new Electrolux dishwasher, as well as a Siemens oven with practical extraction.
What we particularly appreciate about the apartment is the abundance of natural light: The large windows allow sunlight to reach far into the apartment, even in winter, making the loft feel bright, warm, and cozy despite its size.
The underfloor heating provides comfortable warmth in winter and can be used for cooling in summer; even on hot days, the apartment remains surprisingly pleasant. The controlled apartment ventilation, triple-glazed windows, and energetic renovation to nearly Minergie standard also ensure a comfortable indoor climate.
The loft also offers plenty of privacy in terms of acoustics: During our entire rental period, we have hardly noticed any noise from the adjacent apartments.
Another highlight is the directly accessible, approximately 55 m² large private garden. In the spring, wild roses bloom there, wild oregano grows among the plants, and the rustling of the trees creates a surprisingly natural atmosphere. Additionally, the apartment comes with a covered seating area that can be used even in changeable weather.
The Hugi is more than just a ordinary residential building: Several residents jointly maintain a vegetable garden, which you can participate in if you wish. The area is also home to chickens, from which you can obtain fresh eggs. Thus, the former factory combines exceptional architecture with plenty of greenery and a pleasant neighborhood.
The apartment is step-free and wheelchair accessible.
