Ulrichen is a village in the newly formed municipality of Obergoms in 2009. The authentic mountain village is located on the right side of the Rhone valley (1,346 m above sea level). The entire Goms region is very well connected by public transport (Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn). Ulrichen is also the gateway to Ticino with the Nufenen Pass. Shopping facilities, hairdresser, post office, and Nordic center are located in Ulrichen.

The name Ulrichen comes from an Alemannic clan leader. With the Nufenen and Gries Pass, Ulrichen is the gateway to the south. Perhaps the local pasta production was also inspired by this?
