2615 Montagne-de-Sonvilier

Restored 17th-century Jura farmhouse

Built in the 17th century, this restored Jura farmhouse offers today a rare alliance between historic character and contemporary comfort. Distinguished by the Neuchâtel Prize for Heimatschutz, the property testifies to a rehabilitation work carried out with respect for the original architecture, while integrating amenities designed for current living quality. The living area unfolds around generous and carefully highlighted volumes. The living spaces are located in the former agricultural volumes, transformed into a bright living room, a convivial dining room, and an open kitchen, where exposed stone, solid wood, and traditional timber framing create a warm and authentic atmosphere. The circulation between the rooms is natural, in a harmonious continuity between ancient elements and contemporary interventions. The sleeping areas are spread over several levels, offering calm and intimacy. The bedrooms, with comfortable proportions, retain the charm of the period constructions while benefiting from a sober and elegant layout. The bathrooms, discreetly integrated, combine functionality and quality materials. Complementary spaces, such as offices, multipurpose rooms, or storage areas, enrich the distribution and allow the place to be adapted to different uses, whether for daily life or extended stays.Outside, the property is set in a preserved natural environment, offering unobstructed views of the rolling landscapes. The peaceful and non-intrusive setting reinforces the feeling of intimacy and serenity that emanates from the whole, making this home a place as pleasant to live in all year round as to invest in as a secondary residence.More than just a residence, this home is an invitation to live a living heritage, designed to last and be transmitted. A rare property, intended for lovers of authentic places, sensitive to history as much as to the art of living.

2523 Lignières

An exceptional farm nestled at the southern foot of Chasseral

Born from tradition and reinvented with audacity, this old farm, located outside the village of Lignières, embodies the rare encounter between authentic heritage and contemporary elegance. On the hillside, nestled in a vast natural setting, it peacefully contemplates the Chasseral, in a landscape where light, forest, and meadows blend into a living picture.A discreet witness to a preserved rural past, the building today deploys all the nobility of a controlled renovation, faithful to its original soul and turned towards modernity.Fully rehabilitated, the property combines the warmth of wood, the nobility of stone, and the purity of contemporary lines. Nothing is left to chance, each material has been chosen with exigence, each perspective thought out to offer balance and harmony. As soon as you cross the threshold, an atmosphere of elegance and serenity takes hold. Natural light generously invites itself into the volumes, revealing the raw beauty of the beams, the texture of the walls, and the finesse of the details. The spaces are articulated with fluidity, a convivial kitchen, a bright dining room, reception and work areas that open and respond to each other in a subtle continuity between tradition and modernity. At the heart of the house, the cathedral lounge imposes its presence with its monumental fireplace, the true heartbeat of the place.Nearby, a wellness area worthy of the most beautiful residences prolongs this impression of harmony, an 11-meter indoor pool, a sauna, and a Jacuzzi invite relaxation, in a cocoon of intimacy. The ensemble is powered by thermal panels that heat the sanitary water as well as that of the pool, combining modern comfort and energy performance in an environmentally friendly approach. The rooms are spacious and peaceful, true havens of calm. The parental suite, with its dressing room and private bathroom, offers a perfect balance between intimacy and refinement.Under the frame, a suspended library lounge accessible by a spiral staircase reveals a separate space, conducive to reading and rest of the mind.Adjacent to the main building, the restored barn prolongs the original vocation of the place while offering it new perspectives. It houses a large workshop, storage spaces, and an independent two-room apartment, ideal for accommodating guests or offering autonomy and intimacy to its occupants. From the terrace, the view extends to the horizon, on a panorama of forests and light, whose nuances vary with the seasons. The exteriors fully participate in this experience of the art of living. The carefully maintained orchard offers its fruits in the beautiful days. A raised vegetable garden and a greenhouse testify to a sincere relationship with the earth and the natural cycle of the seasons. The dining area, the ornamental pond, and the outdoor fireplace compose an ideal setting for shared moments and summer evenings. Each corner of this outdoor space has been designed to combine elegance, nature, and conviviality. And for horse lovers, the possibility of renting boxes in the immediate vicinity comes to perfect this exceptional living framework, between equestrian passion and rural serenity.More than a house, this property is an emotion, an experience, an art of living. Each stone, each beam, each light reflection tells a story of respect, beauty, and renewal, inviting those who stay here to reconnect with the essential, quietness, nature, and time, which slowly unfolds at the rhythm of the wind on the Chasseral.

Exceptional attic

Welcome Diatimìs has the privilege of proposing for sale this magnificent attic, with exceptional volumes and a terrace. This last one is located at the top of a 6-story building, in the Coudre neighborhood. Offering a 180-degree view of the lake and the Alps, it provides a very exclusive living space.People sensitive to the exceptional will be seduced by this object with its undeniable and rare qualities. Indeed, in addition to its south and west-facing terrace of almost 170m2, it offers nearly 220m2 of living space bathed in light.Renovated in 2011 with high-quality materials, such as the entire floor in solid wengé wood, or the complete replacement of the electrical system, it has also been reorganized to offer a differentiation and privatization of the day and night spaces. The terrace has recently been carefully renovated, with the installation of new glass railings and a new coating made of slabs laid on plots, for a finish that is both contemporary and harmonious. Let's visit... When you step out of the elevator, which arrives directly in the apartment, your gaze plunges directly onto the view of the lake and the Alps. This vast entrance hall offers a bright space that serves the dining room to the east and the living room to the west. The day areaThe day area unfolds over a surface of approximately 120m2. Optimally oriented south and southwest, it offers several accesses to the terrace. With nearly 55m2, the living room area offers a very beautiful surface, made very bright thanks to its many openings. A fireplace will bring the warmth of the flames on winter evenings. The living room is complemented by an independent TV area of approximately 17m2 with its own balcony; this area can be largely open to the living room or privatized thanks to a sliding door.At the heart of the day area is the dining room. With a surface area of over 21m2, it offers all the comfort required to receive and welcome guests with comfort and dignity. At the eastern end of the day area, there is a generous kitchen of approximately 14m2. Organized in a U-shape, it enjoys not only a large opening onto the day area but also a completely unobstructed view of the lake and the Alps to the south thanks to the clever organization of a bar. Finally, it is worth noting that the day area is almost entirely autonomous with respect to the night area, the latter having its own distribution. The night areaThe night area is articulated around a central distribution of the apartment. Composed of four rooms with pleasant dimensions (two of 16m2 and two of approximately 11m2), it is not less than three bathrooms or showers that ensure the comfort of these rooms. Note that one of the distributions of 10m2 can serve as a dressing room. The major assetWhat can be said about the terrace of almost 170m2? It is perfect for magnificent days and evenings with family or friends, and offers specific assignments of spaces such as a lounge area under the pergola in the west, a dining area in the south, a play area for children...Its breathtaking panoramic view will offer lovers of outdoor spaces a feeling of quietness and total well-being. Relaxation and idleness are certainly on the agenda. But more...Two parking spaces in an underground garage, with a car wash area, as well as two cellars (8m2 and 3m2) complete this beautiful range of services. Magnificent renovated farm. Entered into the history of watchmaking

IN 1985, THIS RESTORED OLD FARM HAD RECEIVED THE NEUCHÂTEL PRIZE FOR HEIMATSCHUTZ.THE PAST TO THE PRESENTWhen architecture is combined with the past, or how to bridge three and a half centuries of history.Between the original "beautiful room" and the modern living room installed in the old barn, there is only a simple wooden door. And a leap of three hundred and fifty years. But no shock: just life continuing, in the gentle hills of this northern end of the Val-de-Ruz.It is a Jurassic farm, like some still existing in the region. Built in 1652, it had belonged, throughout the last century, to the same family of modest peasants, the Scheideggers. When the father died in the sixties, the mother and daughter continued to live there as if they were in the previous century, with just enough electricity and water to be drawn from the cistern. The tiny habitable part consisted of the hearth (the kitchen), the "beautiful room" where one only entered on holidays, and above, a small room: the "grandfather's room", which was accessed by a trapdoor by climbing onto the stove. All the rest was the barn and the empty stable. The house was abandoned in the mid-seventies when, after the mother's death, the daughter had to be placed in a nursing home. For ten years, Henri and Paule Schneider had been searching the region for a farm to renovate. They must have passed by this ruin ten times: cracked walls, a roof ready to collapse, a rotten structure... What prompted them, on this summer day in 1979, to take a look inside? And there, in what remained of the kitchen, a column supported a blackened fireplace, where a small wood stove sat, and they stopped in front of the column: a masterpiece of a corner column made of cut stone, carved, intact, beautiful as on the first day, supporting a fireplace with a straight lintel. They bought the column... with the ruin around it. Not without having to buy out an investor who wanted to install vacation apartments there. Purchase price: 50,000 francs. The Heimatschutz then stepped in and immediately classified the facade. For the rest... the brave owners began an adventure similar to the one told by Katharina von Arx in Ma Folie Romainmôtier.Henri Schneider, an ETS engineer in the watchmaking industry, and his wife Paule - "no training but passions" - worked with craftsmen from the region, rediscovering old techniques, relearning traditional gestures, transforming themselves, from weekend to weekend, into laborers, masons, carpenters, draftsmen, historians. First objective: the rough construction. Jean-Louis Geiser, a carpenter from La Ferrière, built the new structure, calculated according to modern norms but using the techniques of the old building: six columns, roof beams made from fir trees planed on two sides, beams and posts adjusted and fixed with wooden pegs. The 305 m² of roof area were covered, as originally, with 66 cm long wooden shingles made from white fir, which Henri Schneider had chosen in the forest with Denis Sauser from La Chaux-du-Milieu, one of the last specialists in this art (he received the Heimatschutz prize in 1981).

Magnificent renovated farm. Entered into the history of watchmaking

IN 1985, THIS RESTORED OLD FARM HAD RECEIVED THE NEUCHÂTEL PRIZE FOR HEIMATSCHUTZ.THE PAST TO THE PRESENTWhen architecture is combined with the past, or how to bridge three centuries and a half of history.Between the "beautiful room" and the modern living room installed in the old barn, there is only a simple wooden door. And a leap of three centuries and a half. But no shock: just life continuing, in the gentle hills of this northern corner of Val-de-Ruz.It is a Jurassic farm, like there are still some in the region. Built in 1652, it had belonged, throughout the last century, to the same family of modest peasants, the Scheideggers.
