Carona is a Swiss municipality near Lugano. It is a small village with about 600 inhabitants, located on a hill on the shore of Lake Lugano. The village of Carona is known for its traditional architecture with stone houses and paved streets that lead up the hill. Here you will also find the Church of San Giorgio, which dates back to the 14th century and has an interior with frescoes and works of art. Carona is also known for its mild climate and botanical gardens. One of the most famous gardens is the San Grato Park, which is located on the hill above the village and offers a panoramic view of Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains. The park is home to numerous plant species, including azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias, and magnolias.
