Description
We are:
We are a diverse community of 10 adults and a 3-year-old child. Currently, we are 5 women and 5 men between 30 and 42 years old. Most of us are working professionals, employed between 50%-80%.
In our free time, we cover a wide range of hobbies together. From hiking, climbing, and bouldering to jogging, dancing, and pole dancing, to cycling, gaming, and painting, almost everything is included :)
How we live together:
We enjoy active cohabitation and support each other whenever possible, but of course, we also respect and appreciate our personal spaces.
We regularly eat dinner together (mostly vegetarian and organic). Depending on the situation, we either cook together or one person cooks for the entire household. For organization, we have a plan on the fridge where you can sign up to cook or clean the kitchen. Ideally, you should be able to cook for everyone and clean the kitchen once every two weeks. On other evenings, you can regularly enjoy delicious, self-cooked food from your fellow roommates.
We order our food together and share various vegetable and dairy product subscriptions from local solidarity farms.
Additionally, we have a rotating task schedule and different areas of responsibility, with which we promote and support our community and cohabitation.
In our bi-weekly household meetings, we discuss important topics that arise and continuously develop our ideas about cohabitation.
We are not a party household, but we occasionally invite people over for dinner or game nights. We also like to use our projector for a movie night, an episode of Pottery Throwdown (like Great British Back Off, but with pottery :D), or a round of Mario Kart.
How we live:
We share a large kitchen, two living rooms, two large balconies, and much more on approximately 400 m². Our apartment also has six double and single clusters. On the cooperative property, there are common areas like a workshop, a sauna, a co-working space, etc. that we can use. The village character of the Hunziker area offers a lively atmosphere with various events outside our apartment, and there are many neighborhood groups to get involved in. Additionally, the area is car-free, meaning there is no possibility to park a car on the property. Therefore, we are also not entitled to resident parking in the city of Zurich.
We are looking for you:
We are looking for someone who can imagine living in a communal large household for a medium to long period and actively participating in our cohabitation.
We expect you to share our basic values and actively contribute to household life. This includes, of course, a fair and regular contribution to the common household (cleaning, cooking, etc.) and respectful interaction with all people in the community. Ideally, you already have experience living in a shared household.
This is the room:
From 15.11.26 (or by arrangement), a room with an area of approximately 13m² will be available (F1 on the floor plan). The room is part of a double cluster, meaning you will share a bathroom (shower, sink, toilet) with a roommate (male). You will also share a anteroom (approximately 8m²) with a small kitchenette and storage space for clothes. As you can see from the pictures, the room also has direct access to one of our large balconies, which is located on the east side.
The monthly rent is 990 CHF. The rent includes utilities and costs for almost all food. The cost distribution is as follows: 624 CHF rent, 190 CHF food, 176 CHF utilities.
Since the apartment is a cooperative apartment, a share capital of 8500 CHF must be paid upon moving in, which you will get back when you move out. However, this should not be a hurdle, so if you fit in with us, we will surely find a solution if you do not have enough money.
And this is how to proceed if you are interested in applying for the household:
If you can imagine living with us, please write us a personal message with the following points:
We look forward to hearing from you and will respond to your message as soon as possible.
