Description

We are a small family with a one-year-old and have been living together with two of our close friends, who, unfortunately for us, have bought a house and will be moving out around November 2026.

The apartment is a bright and spacious 100 m² flat with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a large open-plan living room and kitchen. It is located at Avenue de Sévelin 13B on the 5th floor with beautiful views towards mountains and lake. Montelly metro station is just 600 m away, with a Coop, Migros, and a pharmacy even closer. Lausanne train station is a 20-minute walk, while the city centre can be reached in just a few minutes by bike or public transport (or about 20 minutes on foot). EPFL is around 20 minutes away by metro or bike.

There is a lot of cooking, plants, and life in the apartment. Friends come over for dinner and a glass of wine once or twice a week. From time to time, family and friends stay for a few days in the guest room.

We are looking for someone who enjoys a sense of community and would treat our home as their own, with care, respect, openness, and consideration for the shared spaces and the people living here.

The available room is around 9 m² and can be rented furnished or unfurnished. The balcony, with large planters, wraps around the apartment. The fully equipped kitchen and the guest room/home office are shared. The apartment also has a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, and a surprisingly useful dry&wet floor cleaning robot called Sauron. There are two elevators in the building, as well as an underground parking garage (parking spaces for cars are available at an additional cost, while bike parking is free).

The rent is CHF 990 per month, plus approximately CHF 35 for electricity and CHF 17 for internet.

Since once there is a little human in the game, finding the right fit is not straightforward, there is also the chance that we leave the flat altogether. For people interested in swapping the full rent is around 3200 CHF. For contact, my email can be found on the EPFL webpage.

In high-demand areas, property listers find themselves pre-selecting prospects to manage the number of viewings. Timing – first come, first served – is key, but other criteria can also influence selection. A high income doesn’t always mean an advantage – be honest about it.
