Description
We are looking for a third person for our shared flat in an old farmhouse near Urnäsch.
The house is beautifully secluded in the middle of the green, without direct neighbors. On foot, it's about 15 minutes from the train station Zürchersmühle, part of the way leads through the forest. By bike, it's about 10 minutes to the Coop in Urnäsch. A parking space is available.
You will get your own, unfurnished room with approximately 15.8 m2. In addition, you will share another room with a roommate, which is currently used as a closet and storage space.
Available immediately and without a fixed term. Rent: CHF 800.- per month including utilities. We get our water from our own source, so there are no additional costs for it.
The house
We live in an old wooden house and heat with wood. There is a living room, a separate dining room, a kitchen, shower and toilet, a washing machine, and a dishwasher.
One important point: The house is quite low-built. If you are significantly over 1.80 m tall, the ceiling height could be a strain on you in the long run.
Additionally, there is a private well, spring water, a bathtub in the garden, and a wood-heated tent sauna.
Barn, workshop, and projects
Directly attached to the house is a large barn with a workbench and plenty of space for various handicraft, creative, or crazy projects. Planned are, among other things, a mini ramp and a climbing wall. Additionally, there is a room in the house that is developing into a music room.
Much of this is still more of an idea than a finished project. It would be nice to find someone who enjoys getting involved when time, motivation, and project come together.
Who we are
We are 26 and 31 and both make music. One plays in a Psychedelic-Rock-band, skates, and climbs. Sometimes he's quiet, sometimes he's sociable, depending on the phase. The other also skates, makes music, and listens to almost everything from rock and metal to techno. He is sociable but also likes to withdraw, has manual skills, likes to tinker in the workshop or on the PC, and often has ideas on how to further develop rooms or projects.
Music, skating, climbing, workshop, and projects are just part of our lives. You don't have to have the same hobbies. What's more important is that the vibe is right.
How we live together
We want a shared flat where community happens, but isn't forced. Sometimes we cook or eat together, sometimes everyone does their own thing. Sometimes a joint evening arises spontaneously, sometimes someone just needs peace. Both should have space.
There is no strict cleaning or chore schedule. It shouldn't be permanently chaotic, but it's okay if something is left lying around or a project is paused for a while. We both function rather in phases. Sometimes a lot is done, sometimes it takes more time.
It's important to us that each person thinks along and contributes their part, ideally where they currently have energy or can do something well. We don't want to control each other, but rather live together in such a way that everyone takes responsibility on their own.
Small parties can arise from time to time. Guests and overnight visitors are welcome. Perhaps this will even lead to new friendships. However, it shouldn't become a constant party shared flat.
Smoking is not allowed in the house. Pets are rather difficult due to an allergy and would need to be clarified together in advance.
Who we are looking for
Age is not decisive. 25 to 35 would probably fit well, but in the end, it's the person that counts. We are looking for someone who is independent but doesn't just want to live anonymously next to us. Someone who likes company, respects withdrawal, and can cope with an old, simple wooden house.
You don't have to be a musician, skater, or particularly handy. Enjoying music, creativity, nature, handicraft, or your own projects probably helps so that it fits between us. Manual skills, own ideas, and the desire to sometimes start something would be a big plus.
In conclusion
We consider it more important to find the right person than to get as many inquiries as possible. Write us a few honest lines about yourself, how you like to live, and what attracts you to our house. Then we'll look at the house together and find out if the vibe fits.
