Minusio is a neighboring town of Locarno and is located between Lake Maggiore and Monte Cardada. Minusio borders Muralto, Orselina, Brione, Contra, and Tenero. In Rivapiana, the "lake shore", lies the Catholic Church of San Quirico. The church, first mentioned in 1313, was rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 18th century. Inside the church, remains of Romanesque paintings from the 13th century are preserved on the south wall. The Romanesque bell tower from the 13th-15th centuries formerly served as a watchtower. The church has a public park with a beautiful view of the lake. Not far from there, directly on the lake, is the defensive structure Cà di Ferro, a castle-like building. This was built by the Urner military entrepreneur Peter A Pro from 1540-1580 as a recruitment barracks for Swiss mercenaries (Reisläufer). The chapel dates back to 1630.
