Rarely can one find a mountain village that has preserved its originality as well as Splügen on the Hinterrhein. The pass village with its distinctive patrician, Bünder, and Walser houses lies at 1457 m above sea level. In the compactly designed Splügen, everything is within walking distance. The Rheinwald valley offers numerous opportunities for hiking, skiing, and climbing – from the Roflaschlucht to the source of the Rhine. Andeer with its mineral bath can be reached in 15 minutes. Chur, Davos, and Ticino in about an hour.

The snow-sure ski area on the Piz Tambo is considered a secret tip: Five facilities and 30 kilometers of pistes up to 2215 m above sea level offer easy to challenging descents as well as a children's land. In addition, there are cross-country ski trails, a natural ice rink, winter hiking trails, a snowshoe trail, and a toboggan run.
