Description
Hello!
We live in a super central 84 m² apartment in district 6, directly behind the Dynamo, only two minutes from Letten. The room would be available from September to the end of November, and after discussion, also until the end of February, for 1290 CHF/month. We are looking for someone in our age group who wants to live in a shared apartment (not a purpose-built shared apartment)
About us:
Joachim (39) has been in Zurich for almost a year and has already settled in well, especially thanks to our house community on the fourth floor, with whom we often do things. He works as a train measurement engineer in Winterthur and spends his free time hiking, snowboarding, at the gym, or making pasta. You can also find him relaxing on the couch with a Netflix series or with friends at festivals and in the city.
Nadine (29) works in social science research at ETH and in barrier-free consulting at the University of Zurich. She is also completing her master's degree in political science at UZH and is involved in various socio-political projects. In her free time, she likes to go on long bike tours through Europe, dog-sitting, and occasionally sports (cycling, snowboarding, hiking) or takes care of the many plants that make the shared living room a jungle. As a new hobby, she has set her mind on voluntary fire brigade services, and sometimes you can find her with knitting or series marathons on the sofa.
We have a family garden in Hirslanden where you can get involved and use it accordingly!
The location:
Two minutes from the front door, tram lines 50, 51, and 17 run. On foot, you are eight minutes from the main station. There is a beautiful winter garden that can be completely opened to the balcony in the summer and is used as a tomato growing station or for baking pizzas with a pizza oven. On the other side of the apartment, there is a small balcony.
The room:
The room is approximately 14 m² in size (it looks bigger in real life than in the photos) and has a small niche that perfectly fits a 140x200cm bed. It is currently furnished but can also be taken over (partially) unfurnished. The window faces the street side with the tram, but it is quiet with the window closed. Overall, the apartment is very quiet despite its central location due to good insulation.
Shared apartment life:
We value a communal, yet uncomplicated, life together. We would find it nice if our new roommate had a desire to live together rather than parallel to each other, also to eat together, get involved in the house and garden, have brunch on weekends, or go on excursions, share food and friends, and also take responsibility and initiative. Respectful, appreciative interaction and open communication are key to us. We don't have a fixed cleaning schedule - so far, it has always worked out to clean as needed -, but we can adjust that. However, a clean apartment and appreciation of our home are very important to us.
For those who are relevant: we are a couple, both with many years of shared apartment experience, and we consciously decide on a communal life together. The apartment is a home for everyone, where everyone has the same rights and duties. Our current roommate is moving in with her boyfriend, which is why we are looking for a new person. However, we have to move out of the apartment because it will be renovated, hence the temporary rental of the room.
Would you like to get to know us? We would be happy to hear from you, who you are, what you're about, why you would like to live with us, and what is important to you for living together.
Best regards
Joachim and Nadine
