We live in a large and beautiful farm at Uebewil 108 in Schönberg (1700 Fribourg). We live with seven people in a shared house and are looking for someone who would be willing to join our system of rationing Gruyère and other joys of collective life :)
What's it like at our place?
During the day, we all wander around on our own, and in the evenings, we like to get together for a good meal. Among the other activities we share, there's gardening, but also movie nights, organizing small events, and of course, household chores.
Highlight of the house: the large garden, our collective workspace (the hub for the initiated), the parking spaces, the large living room with screen, the workshop, the micro-printing room/darkroom, which is being set up, and the crazy dreams you can have in this big space.
7 people is a lot of character, so there's something for every taste: music, vinyls, modular synthesizers, botany, 3D modeling, crafting, sewing, soccer, theater, clothes, fanzines...
About the room: it's small, but the house is so great and big that it makes up for it.
The downsides: the size, the lack of sound insulation, living with eight people
The advantages: the price, a fixed spot in the shared offices, the parquet floor, the beautiful sunsets, the large common areas, living with eight people
Rent 510.-/month including utilities. Available from July 1st.
About you: you'll probably feel better at our place if you have the desire to live in a collective, the motivation to get involved in the running of the house, and if self-management appeals to you.
To give you an idea, here are some things that it means to live with us:
- 1.5 hours of cleaning every 2 weeks
- cooking once a week (and not having to cook every other night! )
- a 2-hour meeting every 2 weeks on Sunday evening at 5:00 PM
- being responsible for certain tasks (like emptying the compost, baking bread, watering the garden... to be defined)
- contributing to the garden
- laughing a lot
- not getting too confused :)
