Description
Our Tiny House is moving on.
Completely rebuilt in 2015/16, we lived in it for several years. After being used as a guest room and BnB, it spent the last two years on a farm in the Jura and served as a home during the farm's renovation. For our family with two children and a dog, it's not the right fit at the moment. However, it shouldn't stand empty, but rather be used. We're open to discussing the rent or purchase price.
During construction, we spent around 85,000 CHF (30,000 CHF for the new wooden structure, 30,000 CHF for electrical and water installations, and the rest for building materials, appliances, transportation, etc.). This doesn't include around 8 months of DIY work. After 10 years of wind, weather, people, and life, it no longer looks like it did on the first day. Nevertheless, we built it as ecologically and sustainably as possible: wooden structure with wood fiber insulation, real glass windows with wooden frames. A large photovoltaic and solar thermal system for electricity and heating/hot water. Water-based underfloor heating. 400-liter freshwater tank with a filter system and pressure pump from the marine sector. 400-liter wastewater tank. Separating composting toilet. Parquet floor and more... That's why we're setting the price at 50,000 CHF. (So we don't find out after a 4-hour visit and numerous phone calls that the budget is 15,000 CHF)
One could/should, but doesn't have to:
- Treat the facade
- Replace the fluid in the solar thermal system (from a sanitary expert who has the right filling pump, around 400 CHF)
- Update the electrical concept. 16 lead-gel batteries with 100 AH were installed back then, along with technology from Victron Energy, including the Multiplus with 3000W, etc. Depending on usage, it might make sense to switch to LiFePo batteries.
The Tiny House is currently located in the Jura, 2803, and can be visited there by appointment.
It weighs around 10 tons and was imported from Germany to Switzerland in 2016, but never registered with the road traffic authority. It's transported on its own axle with a tractor or truck. Fortunately, I'm professionally connected and can help/mediate.
On the website from back then, there are numerous posts and pictures about the technology and construction. I can send the link privately.
If you're interested, feel free to contact us, and we can discuss the next steps over the phone.
Best regards, Moni and Marlies
